Breezy Start to Skeet League

English Skeet, Round 1

The first round of the Colin Bowen Memorial English Skeet League was held at Meary Veg Santon with 20 competitors taking part in cold, breezy but dry conditions.

The leaders after the first round were A class shooters Paul Mihailovits and Michael Cross who both recorded 25 straights with another  A class shooter Dave Corlett along with two C class shooters Mark Hepworth and Roman Sammer were in equal third place on 24 followed by Rachael Bowen Matthews and Stan Cross on 23.

After the second round shot on the right hand range we had a three way tie for third place in C class between Mike Walker, Roman Sammer and Brian Kelly on 41, second place in C class went to Chris Workman on 44 but the winner of  class with 46 points was Mark Hepworth. In B class Steven Rand was second on 38 with Brian Faragher taking B class with 41 points. In A class we had a tie for second place between Stan and Michel Cross on 47, but top of the class with 49 points was Paul Mihailovits.

Eight shooters carried on to complete 100 targets and again Paul Mihailovits was the winner on 92 with Dave Corlett and Rachel Bowen Matthews in equal second place on 90. Mark Hepworth who was shooting his first 100 target shoot in fourth place on 85, fifth place went to Roman Sammer on 81 with Chris Workman in sixth place on 79.
