English Sporting Summer League, Round 4

The fourth round of the Suntera Global Sporting League was held at Meary Veg Santon with 20 competitors taking part in cool, dry, overcast conditions, which also had the added incentive of the Ted Gohl Highgun Trophy and the Brian Faragher Handicap cup up for grabs.

The leader after the first stand were George Davies and Rob Corlett with perfect 10’s followed by Dave Corlett, Ben Stembridge, Michael Cross and lady shooter Irene Stockil on 9. After the second stand we had a three way tie for first place between Dave Corlett, Michael and Stan Cross on 18 followed by Rob Corlett, Andre Vishnjov and Irene Stockil on 17.

After stand three we had the Cross’s tying for first place on 27 with Dave Corlett in third place on 26 followed by Jack Clague in forth place on 25. Michael Cross was in the lead on his own after stand four on 37 points mainly thanks to hitting all ten targets, in second place on 32 were Stan Cross, Dave and Rob Corlett with Peter Kelly next on 31 and making up the top six was junior Zac Bellhouse on 30.

After the fifth and last stand we had the following results, third place in C class went to Irene Stockil on 33 points with Andre Vishnjov in second place on 36 but winning C class with 39 points was Zac Bellhouse. George Davies was in third place in B class with 34 points with Jack Clague taking second place on 35 with Liam Kirkpatrick winning B class with 37 points. We had a tie for second place in A class between Peter Kelly and Stan Cross on 41 points but winning A class and also taking the the Ted Gohl highgun trophy with a well shot 47 was Michael Cross. The winner of the Brian Faragher handicap cup was junior Zac Bellhouse with 61 points.
