Michael pips Dad to High Gun

Summer Sporting League, Round One

The first round of the Suntera Global Sorting league was held at Meary Veg Santon in near ideal conditions.

The joint leaders after the first stand were farther and son Stan and Michael Cross with perfect 8’s. Michael cleared the second stand also to be in the lead on his own with Stan in second place on 13 followed by George Davies, Ben Stembridge and Jack Clague in equal third place with 12 points.

We had a tie for first place after stand three with the Cross’s bot having 18 points ,in third place on16 was Paul Mihailovits with George Davies in forth place on 15 followed by Ben Stembridge on 14. We had a new leader after stand four in Stan Cross on 26 points having clearing the stand ,in second place on 24 were Michael Cross and Paul Mihailovits followed by George Davies in fourth place on 22 with Ben Stembridge and junior Joe Faragher next on 20. Cross senior was still in the lead after stand five on 33 with Michael now second on his own on 32 followed by Paul Mihailovits in third place on 29 with Mark Barnett, George Davies, Jack Clague and John Moore next on 27.

The sixth and last stand proved to be a game changer for high gun with Michael pipping his dad by one point with 40 points to Stans 39 . Michael also took first in A class with Paul Mihailovits second on 37 and Ben Stembridge third on 33. Stan Cross took first in b class with Mark Barnett second on 36 and George Davies third on 34. Les Devlin was first in C class on 31 with Ed Rixon second on 27 and junior Ollie Tobin third on 26.
