Strong Start for Home Team at 2025 Inter-Club Comp

Meary Veg, 29 March

The afternoon of Saturday 29th March found thirty competitors from both clubs battle it out at Meary Veg in challenging conditions, with high winds and driving rain making for some interesting targets. 50 clays each of Skeet and DTL were shot simultaneously on both ranges, and 50 Sporting followed a short break in order to make sure the targets remained fair in the building winds.

Sammer and Cross Skeet Leaders

Summer Skeet League, Round One

The first round of the Colin Bowen Memorial English skeet league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 24 competitors taking part in near ideal conditions.

The joint leaders after the first round were Roman Sammer (A) and Michel Cross (B) with perfect 25 Straights, in equal third place were Paul Mihailovits, Stan Cross and Jeff Corkill all A along with Brian Faragher (B) all on 24, the leading C class shooter at this stage was Peter Fabrizio on 21.

Moore turns back the Clock

Winter 2024 All-Round Championship

The Club all Round Championship was held at Meary Veg Santon in very cold but dry conditions. This was the last shoot of the winter series of shoots.

With DTL and English skeet being shot at the same time we did not have a leader board until these were completed. The clear leader at this stage was John Moore with 141 points with last year’s champion Mike Walker in second place on 134 followed by Mark Riley in third place on 133. The leading B class shooter at this stage was Calum Craine on 131 with David Morgan leading C class on 101.

Faragher Flying High

English Skeet Winter League, Round Four

The fourth and final round of the UTOPIA HAIR SALON Winter series English skeet league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 20 competitors taking part in cold breezy conditions.

The leader after the first round was A class shooter Stan Cross with a 24 (should have been a 25 but he forgot his safety catch on stand one), in equal second place on 23 were Paul Mihailovits, Roman Sammer and B class Mark Hepworth, then we had seven shooters on 22.
