The first round of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league was held at Meary Veg Santon in bright sun shine making picking the targets up very difficult
The leader by a country mile after the first round was Mark Riley with 22 with Rob Watterson in second place on 17 followed by Calum Craine in third place on 16.

Summer DTL Victory for Ward

Summer DTL League, Round Six

The sixth and final round of the Tower Insurance DTL league was held at Meary Veg Santo in extremely windy conditions.

The leader after the first round was Phil Ward with a 23/68 round with B class John Moore in second place on 22/65 followed by Mike walker 21/61 and Stan Cross 22/61 in equal third place. After a short break the second round got under way in even windier conditions and at the end, we had Will Rand in third place in C class on 30/89 , with Mike Whitehead taking second place with 34/101 but winning C class with 117/42 was Stan Cross. Brian Faragher was second in B on 40/116 with John Moore in first place in B as well as high Gun over all on 47/139 ,John even hit a straight in his second round . Mike walker was third in a class on 42/121 with Peter Kelly taking second place with 42/122 and in first place in A was Phil Ward on 45/133.

In the afternoon the sixth round of the Manx Petroleum’s Olympic skeet league was held again in very windy conditions and the winner was Giulio Fabrizio with 33 points with Michael Cross in second place on 32 followed by Brian Faragher and Jeff Corkill in equal third place on 31.

Summer ABT League, Round Six

The sixth and final round of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league was also held and the winner was Steven Craine on 31 with Phil Ward in second place and Peter Kelly in third place .

Next week is the sixth and final round of the Dave and Pam Corlett Pro Sporting league which is also the final summer league shoot of the year .

Kelly Clears up in DTL

Summer DTL League, Round Five

The fifth round of the Tower Insurance DTL league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 14 competitors taking part in dull dry conditions.

The leader after the first round was C class shooter Ted Kermeen with a 24/71 score in second place on 24/69 were Michael Cross and Peter Kelly followed by Jack Clague on 23/68 who was the leading B class shooter.

After the second round David Morgan finished in third place in C class on 42/123 with junior Zac Bellhouse taking second place with 44/127 but top of C class with 47/137 was Ted Kermeen. In B class Brian Faragher was third with 43/121 with George Davies taking second place on 43/124 but taking B class and also high gun on the day was super vet Jack Clague with 47/138. In A class Michael Cross and Peter Lowe  were in equal second place on 47/135 and winning A class with 47/137 was Peter Kelly.

The fifth round of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league was also held, and the winner was Steven Craine on 37 points with peter Kelly in second place on 34 with Ted Kermeen third on 31.

Mihailovits All-Round Champion

Summer 2024 All-Round Championship

The club all round championship sponsored by Paul’s Gun Stocks was held at Meary Veg Santon in dry sunny conditions held over five disciplines.

The leader after the English skeet were Paul Mihailovits, Jeff Corkill, John Moor and junior Zac Bellhouse all with 72 points. After the next discipline, DTL Paul Mihailovits was in the lead on his own with 144 points with junior Zac Bellhouse in second place on 137 followed by John Moore in third place on 134.

Mihailovits was still in the lead after the ABT on 198 but we had Michael Cross in second place now on 191 with Peter Kelly , third on 189. Olympic skeet was next and we had a new leader in Michael Cross on 251 with Paul Mihailovits in second place on 246 with Zac Bellhouse in third place on 245 followed by Brian Faragher in forth place on 241.

The final discipline was sporting, and we had a complete turnaround for the final positions. In sixth place overall was junior Zac Bellhouse with 278 points, fifth place went to Brian Faragher on 280 with Stan Cross taking forth place on 287, one point ahead in third place was Peter Kelly on 288, runner up with 302 points was Michael Cross but winning the Club All Round Championship with 312 points was Paul Mihailovits, well shot Paul.

Bumper League Weekend

It was a busy weekend at Meary Veg with four league shoots taking place. First up was the fourth round of The Tower Insurance DTL league held in near perfect conditions.

Summer DTL League, Round Four

We a tie for the lead after the first round between Peter Kelly and Phil Ward with 25/73 straights, in equal third place was Mike Whitehead with a 25/72 straight closely followed by lady shooter Lyn McCloud with a 25/71 straight.

At the end of the second round Mike Whitehead finished in third place in C class on 46/134, in second place on 47/136 was Ted Kermeen and in first place on 46/137 was Rob Marshall. John Moore was second in B class on 42/120 with Calum Craine taking B with 48/140.

Peter Kelly was third in A class on 44/123 with Manx champion Mike Walker in second place on 48/142 ,Mike having a perfect 25/75 in his second round, but winning with 50 straight and 148 points was Phil Ward who also had a perfect 25 straight in his second round which also earned him the Ian Faragher High gun cup.

Olympic Skeet League, Round Four

The next event was the fourth round of the Manx Petroleum’s Olympic skeet league with the Parkinson high gun cup up for grabs.

The joint leaders after the first round were Jeff Corkill and Ted Davis on 21 with Stan Cross next on 20. At the end of the second round Jeff Corkill and Stan Cross finished in joint second place on 39 but pipping them with a total of 40 points and winning the Parkinson cup was Ted Davis.

The next shoot was the forth round of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league. The leader after the first round was Phil Ward with 22 points, in equal second place on 21 were Rob Watterson and Calum Craine. Calum Craine finished in third place on 41 with Phil Ward and Rob Watterson in equal first place on 43.

ABT League, Round Three

The final shoot of the day was the postponed Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league and the joint winners were Stevie Craine and Rob Watterson with 44 points with Peter Kelly in third place on 37.

There was two cups to be won the first one the J D Faulkner High gun cup and we had the have a sudden death shoot of for this and Rob Watterson was the winner by one. The second cup was the Peter Kelly handicap cup and this went to Ted Kermeen with a total of 50

Cross Makes it a Hat Trick

Fabrizio All-Round Championship

The Fabrizio All Round Championship was held at Meary Veg Santon in dry sunny and at times blustery conditions shot over five disciplines.

The leader after the first two disciplines, English skeet and DTL was last years champion Michael Cross with 146 points, in second place on 137 was Peter Kelly with Paul Mihailovits in third place on 134 followed by John Moore on 133, with Stan Cross and Liam Kirkpatrick making up the top six on 131.

The next two disciplines to be tackled were Olympic skeet and ABT and Cross just increased his lead to 27 points scoring the third best score on ABT (57) and the best score on Olympic skeet (69) for a running total of 272 with John Moore now in second place on 250 followed by Paul Mihailovits in third place on 245. Peter Kelly was next on 239 with Stan Cross only one point behind Kelly on 238 and in equal fifth place on 228 were Jeff Corkill and Giulio Fabrizio.

The final discipline was Pro sporting and in C class Mike Whitehead finished in second place on 224 with Giulio Fabrizio taking the class with 282 points. Junior Zac Bellhouse was second in B class with 282 points but winning B class with 292 points was Stan Cross. John Moore finished second in A class with 286 points but taking A class with 305 points was Paul Mihailovits, but the star of the day was Michael Cross who shot consistently throughout the day to retain the Fabrizio Cup for the third year running with 326 points, well done Michael.

Moore wins DTL

Summer DTL League, Round Three

The third round of the Tower Insurance DTL league was held at Meary Veg
Santon with 19 competitors taking part in near ideal conditions.

The leader after the first round was B class shooter John Moore with 71
points in equal second place on 70 were A class Peter Kelly and C class Ted
Kermeen, on behind on 69 in forth place was B class Jack Clague and making
up the top six were President of the club Rob Marshall and Patron of the
club David Morgan with 67 points.

After the second round Ted Kermeen and Mike Whitehead finished in equal
second  place in C class on 129, but taking C class with 132 points was Rob
Marshall. George Davies was third in B class on 114 with Jack Clague taking
second place on 130 but winning B class with 139 points was John Moore which
was also the best score of the day. Rob Corlett finished in third place in a
class on 129 but taking second place with his first DTL shoot was Liam
Kirkpatrick on 133 but taking A class with 134 points was Peter Kelly. The
best round of the day went to Winky McCloud who shot the only straight of
the day for 71 points.

Summer Olympic Skeet League, Round Two

In the afternoon the third round of the Manx Petroleum’s Olympic skeet was
held which also had the Cannell Crossing cup up for grabs.

The leader after the first round was Ted Davis on 23 with Michael Cross and
Giulio Fabrizio in equal second place on 20. After the second round Giulio
Fabrizio finished in third place on 38 with Michael Cross taking second place with 42 points but winning with 44 points and also winning the Cannell
Crossing cup was Ted Davis.

Unfortunately there was no ABT this afternoon due to a mechanical breakdown.

Close Battle for Olympic Champ

Olympic Skeet Manx Championship

The IOM Olympic skeet championship sponsored by Sadler Agricultural Supplies was held at Meary Veg Santon in dry calm but dull conditions.

The leader after the first round was veteran David Clague with a well shot 24, in second place on 22 was Michael Cross with another veteran Dave Corlett in third place on 20. Cross was the new leader after the second round with a running total of 45 with Clague now in second place on 42 with Corlett still in third place on 41.

It was still the same order after the third round with Cross on 66, Clague on 64 and Corlett on 60 followed by Jeff Corkill and Giulio Fabrizio in equal forth place on 56. After the forth round we had Ted Davis finishing in fourth place on 75 with Jeff Corkill taking third place with 77 points but we had a tie for first place between Clague and Cross who both finished after the 100 on 85 so a sudden death shoot of was required to find a winner.

Clague shot first and hit three of his four targets, so did Cross. In the second batch of four Clague scored two, so did Cross but in the final two pairs Clague missed three to Cross’s two so Michael Cross is the new IOM Olympic skeet champion, well done Michael.

Cups for Whitehead and Ward

Summer DTL League, Round Two

The second round of the Tower Insurance DTL league was held at Meary Veg Santon in near ideal conditions which also had the added incentive of having the IOM Goats Highgun cup and the Jack Harrison Handicap cup up for grabs.

The leader after the first round was Phil Ward with a 25/73 straight, in second place also with a straight but for 71 points was Mark Riley, in third place was C class shooter Ted Kermeen with a 23/69 followed by the leading B class shooter Dave Corlett with 22/65 and Mike Whitehead with 23/65 round.

After the second round Rob Marshall finished in third place in C class with 115 points with Mike Whitehead in second place on 121 but taking C class with a well shot 138 was Ted Kermeen. George Davies finished in third place in B class on 124 with John Moore taking second place on 131 but piping him by one point in taking first in B class was Dave Corlett with 132. Mike Walker was third in a class with 125 with Mark Riley in second place on 140 but taking the highgun prize and also winning the IOM Goats highgun cup was Phil Ward. In the handicap section the winner was Mike Whitehead with 176 points.

Sammer and Cross dominate Easter Skeet

English Skeet Summer League, Round 2

The second round of the Colin Bowen Memorial English skeet league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 29 competitors taking part in near ideal conditions which included the Easter cups.

The leader after the first round were Michael Cross and John Moore both with 25 straights, in equal third place were Paul Mihailovits, Roman Sammer, Stan Cross, Rachel Bowen Matthews and joint C class leaders Giulio Fabrizio and Andre Visnjov all scoring 23. The leading B Class shooters at this stage were Peter Kelly, George Davies and Will Rand on 22.

After the second round we had the following results. In C class Ted Kermeen was in third place with 42 points with Giulio Fabrizio taking second place with 43 points but winning c class with 44 points was Andre Visnjov. Dave Corlett tied for second place in B class with 43 points but Peter Kelly took first in B with 45 points. Michael Cross was third in A class with 47 points but we had a tie for first place between Roman Sammer and Paul Mihailovits and as a cup was on it a shoot off was required and the victor was Roman hitting 11 to Pauls 10, well done Roman. In the handicap section we had a clear winner in Giulio Fabrizio who took the cup with 55 points. A team event was also included in the shoot but over the 100 targets and the winners were Jeff Corkill and Will Rand with 185 points, in equal second place were Stan Cross/Rachel Bowen Matthews and Paul Mihailovits /Andre Visnjov with 182 points.

Summer Skeet Medley

On Easter Monday the Skeet Medley cup was held sponsored by Stan Cross with 14 shooters taking part in cold, damp and dull conditions.

The leader after the skeet doubles was Michael Cross with a perfect 26, in second place on 25 was Peter Kelly with Paul Mihailovits, Jeff Corkill and Will Rand in equal third place on 24. English skeet was next and we had a new leader in Peter Kelly with 49 points, in equal second place on 48 were Paul Mihailovits and Stan Cross, Stan hitting the only straight in English skeet, followed by Dave Corlett and Will Rand on 47.

The final discipline was Olympic skeet and at the completion of the competition we had the following results. In C class Andre Visnjov was third with 47 points with Liam Kirkpatrick taking second place on 52 points but winning C class with 59 points was junior David Cowin. Brian Faragher was third in B class on 60 points but we had a tie for first place between Dave Corlett and Peter Kelly with 65 points. In A class Jeff Corkill was in third place with 66 points with Michael Cross taking second place on 67 and in 1st place in A was Paul Mihailovits with 68 points but taking the championship with 70 points was Stan Cross, well done Stan.
