Trap Medley

The IOM Clay Pigeon Shooting club hosted the annual Trap Medley kindly sponsored once again by Creer & Kelly Ltd.

16 competitors took to the stands in near ideal conditions. With both DTL and Single Barrel DTL being shot on both ranges the leaders before the final discipline ABT were, in first place was DTL specialist Phil Ward with 136 points, in second place on 128 was veteran Jack Clague with John Moore in third place on 126, we then had four shooters on 125, junior Arran Wade, Peter Kelly, and the Craine boys Calum and Steven.

The last discipline, ABT was shot in reverse order of three squads, in the first squad Mike Parr had the best score of 66 with Rob Corlett scoring 63, in the second squad Steven Craine and Stan Skinner had the best scores with 69 points  followed by George Davies on 66. In the last squad were leader Phil Ward, Jack Clague, John Moore, Peter Kelly, Arran Wade and Calum Craine. Once all the scores were checked we had the following results:

The new Trap Medley Champion is Phil Ward with the only shooter to break the 200 barrier with 205 points in second place on 194 was Steven Craine with Junior Arran Wade third on 191.

Manx Skeet Championship

On bank holiday Monday the Manx Skeet Championship was held kindly sponsored once again by John Moore and we had a new champion in Jeff Corkill scoring 45 points, we had a three way tie for second place between A class shooters Dave Corlett, Paul Mihailovits and C class Roman Sammer on 44 points.

NSSA Skeet

In the afternoon the Manx Petroleum’s NASSA skeet competition was held  and we had joint winners with Stan Cross and Paul Mihailovits tying for first place with 48 points each, in third place on 47 was Dave Corlett with Jeff Corkill taking fourth place with 46 points followed by Roman Sammer in fifth place on 45 and to round of the top six were John Moore and junior Zac Bellhouse with 42 points.

Triple Trap Delight for Craine

Trap Medley

The Meary Veg Trap Medley kindly sponsored by building contractors Creer & Kelly Ltd was held at Meary Veg, Santon in near perfect conditions. The format of the competition is 30 DTL, 30 ABT and 30 Double Rise.

The leader after the DTL section was Mike Walker with 89 points with Rob Corlett in second place on 87 followed by Phil Ward in third place on 86, Steven Craine was fourth on 85 with Peter Kelly in fifth place on 82 and making up the top six were John Moore and Dave Corlett on 80.

The next round was ABT and Stan Skinner was the new leader only missing one target for a running total of 163, in second place on 161 was Mike Walker with Steven Craine and Peter Kelly in equal third place on 160. In fifth place on 158 was Phil ward with Rob Corlett making up the top six on 156.

Double rise was the last discipline which proved to be a game changer for some; John Moore finished in sixth place on 218, fifth place went to Peter Kelly on 220 with Stan Skinner who was the leader after the ABT finishing in fourth place  on 223. Third place went to Rob Corlett on 228 with his dad David taking the runner up spot on 230 but the winner with 238 points was Steven Craine – well done Stevie!

Trap Medley & Summer All-Round

The Creer and Kelly Trap Medley

The Creer and Kelly Trap Medley was held at Meary Veg, Santon on Saturday afternoon in dry sunny conditions.

The leader after the first discipline DTL was the DTL champion Mike Walker on 87 points, in second place on 86 was John Moore, with Peter Kelly third on 85, followed by Mark Riley in forth place on 84, with Dave Corlett fifth on 83, and making up the top six were farther and son Alan and Arran Wade on 82. Alan wade was in first place after the ABT on 166, with Mike Walker and Mark Riley in equal second place on 165, followed by Peter Kelly on 163. The last discipline Double Rise saw Mike Parr finish in second place in B class with 223 points, with Dave Corlett taking first place in B class with 233. John Moore was third in A class with 227, with Mark Riley taking second place on 237, Mike Walker won A class with 240, but taking the championship by one point was Alan Wade.

Fabrizio All Round Championship

On Sunday the Fabrizio All round Championship was held sponsored by Utopia Hair Salon again held in mainly dry sunny conditions.

The leader after the first two disciplines was Neil parsons on 146, we had a three way tie for second place between Peter Kelly, Jeff Corkill and Jon Moore with 140 points. Neil Parsons stretched his lead after the next two disciplines having a running total on 260, with Dave Clague in second place on 253, followed by Paul Mihailovits on 251. The final discipline Pro sporting saw Mark Barnett take third place in B class with 265 points, in second place on 289 was junior Michael Cross, but taking B Class with 299 points was Stan Cross. In A class Jeff Corkill and John Moore finished in equal third place on 302, in second place on 307 was Dave Clague, but we had a tie for first place between Neil Parsons and Paul Mihailovits on 317, so a shoot off was required to find a winner and the discipline drawn was Olympic skeet which neither specialize in and the winner was Neil Parsons scoring 48 points to Pauls 42,well done Neil.
