2024 Christmas SB DTL

The Christmas Single Barrel DTL shoot kindly sponsored once again by TOP SPEC FENCING was held at Meary Veg Santon in near ideal conditions. There was four cups up for grabs over various class’s .

The leader after the first round were C class shooter Winky MacLeod and junior unclassified Joe Faragher on 24 with Calum Craine and Mike Walker next on 23 followed by Steven Craine, Phil Ward, Giulio Fabrizio and Ted Kermeen on 22. In between rounds the non members who had entered took to the stands to shoot for the Phil Yewdall memorial cup and the winner was Tom Maddrell with 18 points with Lucy Faragher next on 42 which won her the Faragher ladies Non Members cup and in third place was Tom Moore on 39.

Once all the scores had been collated, we had the following results ,in the junior section Joe Fargher was the winner on 129 with Zac Bellhouse second on 126. The winner in the unclassified was also Joe Faragher with Giulio Fabrizio second with Mark Hepworth, Stan Skinner and Will Rand all tying for third place on 108 .

The winner in C class was Winky MacLeod on 135 with Lyn MacLeod second on 108 and Jon Williams third on 102. In B class Steven Craine was the winner on 135 with Zac Bellhouse second on 126 and Mark Riley third on 120. In A class Ted Kermeen was third on 120 with Phil Ward taking second place with 132 points and winning A class with 135 was Mike Walker.

This only left the High gun and Handicap cups to be decided In the handicap section Jon Williams was the winner with 167 points and the high gun cup the winner was Calum Craine with 141 points , Well done Calum.

Cross wins Christmas Shoot

2024 Club Christmas Shoot

A hardy core of 20 shooters took part in the annual pre-Christmas All Round Competition sponsored by the club with all entrants getting a selection box for entering the shoot which was held in wet, cold and very windy conditions.

All the class prizes were meat prizes of Beef, Pork and Ham
The shoot was held over three disciplines with the SBDTL, and the Skeet doubles being shot first, with 20 targets in each discipline .
The leader after these two disciplines was A class Michael Cross on 34 points ,in second place on 31 was B class Calum Craine with junior Zac Bellhouse, Ted Kermeen, Rob Corlett and Mark Hepworth next on 29 . The leading C class shooter at this stage was John Kneen on 21.

After a short break to the shooters were re-squadded in ascending order before the Pro Sporting got under way. The final results were as follows ,in the team event the winners were Andre Vishnjov and Ted Kermeen on 83 points with Calum Craine and John Moore taking second place with 82 points and in third place with 78 points were Mark Hepworth and Stan Cross .

In the class’s Johnathon McCarthy was third in C class on 15 points with Les Devlin taking second place on 24 but winning C class with 26 points was lady shooter Sue Doyle. In B class we had to have a shoot off for third place between junior Zac Bellhouse and Ted Kermeen with Zac claiming third place . We also had a shoot off for 1st and 2nd between Calum Craine and Andre Vishnjov with Calum taking first place and Andre second.

We also had a shoot off for second and third in A class between John Moore and Peter Kelly with John taking second place and winning A class with 40 points was Stan Cross which only leave the highgun which was Micheal Cross with a well shot 51 points .

Boxing Day Shoot

The IOM Clay Pigeon Shooting Club held their annual Christmas shoot kindly sponsored by Top Spec Fencing at Meary Veg Santon with 34 competitors taking part in all categories in cold, wet but at times sunny conditions.

The leader of the main event at the half way stage was Steven Craine with a well shot 24, in equal second place were B class shooter Jack Clague and C class shooter Ted Kermeen on 22, followed by Mike Walker in fourth place on 21 and making up the top six were Arran Wade and Rob Corlett on 20. In the unclassified section the leaders were Michael Cross and Calum Craine on 18.

After a short break the second round got under way and in the unclassified section Michael Cross repeated his first round score on 18 to win the section, in second place on 33 was Mark Hepworth, but we had a five way tie for third place so count back was used which saw Andre Visjhov take third place with Zac Bellhouse in fourth place, Giulio Fabrizio was fifth, Stan Skinner sixth and Calum Craine seventh.

In Class C Mike Whitehead finished in third place on 34 with Will Rand taking second place on 36 but winning C class with 38 hits was Ted Kermeen. Brian Faragher was third in B class on 39 with Dave Corlett taking second place with 43 kills but winning B class with 44 kills was Jack Clague. In A class junior Arran Wade was third on count back from Rob Corlett in second place, both scoring 42 kills each but winning A Class with 43 kills was first round leader Steven Craine  but high gun on the day was Mike Walker who showed every body how to do it by hitting a straight in his second round to win the John Moore Highgun cup with 46 kills.

In the handicap section for the George Costain Handicap cup the winner was Mike Whitehead with 167 points. The last of the trophies to be won was the best non members cup or better know as the ‘Archie Cup’ and the winner was Cesar Kermode who received a years free membership to the club.
