Final Rounds for DTL, ABT, and Olympic Skeet

Tower Insurance DTL League

The final round of the Tower Insurance DTL league was held at Meary Veg, Santon with 18 competitors taking part in dull but dry conditions.

The leader after the first round was John Moore who hit a 25/74 straight, in second place on 24/71 was junior Arran Wade, with Arthur Stepka, Peter Kelly and Mike Parr in equal third place on 24/69. After the second round David Cowin finished in third place in C class with 108 points, in second place on 122 was Peter Fabrizio, with Rob Corlett taking C class with 134 points. George Davies was third in B class with 131 points, second place went to Arthur Hayes on 134, with Mike Parr winning B class with 137 points. Mike Walker was third in A class with 138 points, with Arthur Stepka taking second place on 139 but top gun on the day with 50 straight was John Moore with 146 points.

Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT League

In the afternoon the last round of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league was held and the joint winners were father and son Alan and Arran Wade with 44 points, in third place on 41 was Peter Kelly, with Mike Walker forth on 40, followed by John Moore on 38, and making up the top six was Arthur Hayes on 37.

Manx Petroleum’s Olympic Skeet League

The last round of the Manx Petroleum’s Olympic skeet league was also held and the winner was James Bradley with 46 points, followed by David Clague on 39, and junior Ted Davis on 36.

Next week is the last shoot of the summer season which is 50 Manx Skeet sponsored by John Moore. Duty officers this week are J Cowley & J Corkill

A Bumper Weekend of DTL, ABT, and Olympic Skeet

Tower Insurance DTL league – 5th Round

The fifth round of the Tower Insurance DTL league was held at Meary Veg
Santon with 22 competitors taking part in near ideal conditions which also
had The IOM Goat Highgun cup up for grabs.


The leader after the first round was Mike Walker with 72 points, in second
place on 70 was Stan Cross, with Arthur Stepka and Alan Wade next on 69,
followed by Peter Kelly on 68. After the second round, in C class Rob Corlett
finished in third place on 112, with Richie Radcliffe taking second place on
114, and one point ahead on 115 was Jamie Hancox who won C class. In B class
Dave Corlett was third on 127, with Mike Parr taking second place on 128, but
the B class winner with 133 points was Stan Cross. Alan Wade was third in A
class on 138, with Arthur Stepka taking second place on 139, but the winner on
140 and taking the highgun cup was Mike Walker.

Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league – 5th Round

The fifth round of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league was also held. The leader after the first round was Peter Kelly with 22 points, in equal
second place on 21 were the Wade boys Alan and Arran, with John Moore next on 19. After the second round Arran Wade repeated his first round score to
finish in third place on 42, with dad Alan hitting 23 to finish in second
place on 44, but top of the pile with 45 points was Peter Kelly

Manx Petroleum’s Olympic skeet League – 5th Round

In the afternoon the fifth round of the Manx Petroleum’s Olympic skeet
league was held, at top of the class was James Bradley with 47 points, with
Dave Clague second on 44, and Dave Corlett third on 42, Stan Cross was forth
on 40, with Ted Davis fifth on 37, Rob Corlett sixth on 26, and Will Rand
seventh on 22.

On the Saturday a 100 bird selection shoot was held with Dave
Clague taking the high gun with a well shot 94, which is a qualifying score
for Island selection, James Bradley was second on 81, with Ted Davis third on
80.


Next week is a 100 bird sporting selection shoot entries close at 10am

Club All Round

Manx Petroleum’s Club All Round

The Club All Round was held at Meary Veg, Santon with 18 competitors taking part in mainly dry but windy conditions and kindly sponsored once again by Manx Petroleum.

The leader after the first two disciplines DTL and English skeet was James Bradley on 144 points, with Neil Parsons second on 141, and Stan Cross third on 138.

The next two disciplines Olympic skeet and ABT saw James Bradley increase his lead to ten points with 270 points, in second place now was John Moore on 260 with Stan Cross and Neil parsons in equal third place on 243, in fifth place on 241 was Mark Riley and making up the top six was Jeff Corkill on 232.

The fifth and last discipline was Sporting and when all the scores were added up, in the junior class kindly sponsored by Jamie Hancox, Arran Wade was third on 230, Michael Cross was second on 237, with David Cowin taking the junior prize on 246. In C class Will Rand finished in third place on 204, with Mark Barnett taking second place on 226, and with junior David Cowin winning C class with 246. Jack Clague was third in B class with 241, with Brian Faragher second on 286, but the winner of B class with 303 was Stan Cross. In A class Dave Corlett finished in third place on 295, with Mark Riley taking second place on 307, but pippin Mark by one point and taking A class with 308 was John Moore, but the man of the day was James Bradley who increased his lead to 22 points at the end and became the Club All Round Champion for 2020 with a fine score of 330, well done James.

IOM ABT Championship

The IOM ABT Championship was held at Meary Veg, Santon with 14 competitors taking part in dull but dry conditions.

The leader after the first round was Alan wade with a perfect 25 straight, in second place on 23 was Rob Watterson, with Stan Sinner third on 22, followed by Dave Walton, Mark Riley, Steven Craine and junior Arran Wade on 20. Alan wade was still in the lead after round two with 47 points, but in second place now was Stan Skinner on 46, with Rob Watterson third on 44. We had a new leader after round three in Stan Skinner with 68 points, one ahead of Alan Wade in second place on 67, with Dave Walton now third on 65. Wade scored 20 in his last round to finish in third place on 87, while Walton scored 24 in his last round to finish in second place on 89, but the new IOM ABT Champion is Stan Sinner winning it for the first time with 90 points.

IOM DTL Championship

The Sadler Agricultural Supplies IOM DTL Championship was held at Meary Veg, Santon, in near perfect conditions.

The leader at the half way mark was Mike Walker with 50 straight for 147 points in equal second place on 145 were Peter Kelly and Mark Riley with Phil Ward in fourth place on 144 followed by Neil Parsons on 143. At the end of the third round Neil Parsons and Mark Riley were in equal first place on 217 with Mike Walker third on 216. At the end of the forth and final round the new IOM DTL Champion is Mike Walker with 289 points, we had to have a shoot off for second place between Neil Parson and Mark Riley with Neil taking second place by 73 to 68. The winning junior sponsored by Field and Range was Arran Wade on 278.

On Sunday morning we had the next round of the Tower Insurance DTL League. High gun on the day was Alan Wade with 50 straight for 147 points, in second place also with a 50 straight was Steven Craine with Mike Walker third on 143. George Davies was the B class winner on 130 with Mike Parr second on 126 followed by Rob Marshall in third place on 108. Rob Corlett won C class on 110 with Joseph Lapa second on 107.

Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT League

In the afternoon the next round of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league was held with the J D Faulkner high gun and Peter Kelly handicap cups up for grabs. We had a tie for first place between Peter Kelly and Alan wade for the Faulkner cup so a shoot off was required to find a winner and the winner was Alan Wade. The Peter Kelly handicap winner was Arran Wade with 55 points.

Manx Petroleum’s Olympic Skeet League

The final shoot of the day was the Manx Petroleum’s Olympic Skeet league which had the Cannell Crossing cup up for grabs and the winner was David Clague on 44 with Michael Cross second on 37 and Stan Cross third on 34. The Cannell crossing cup winning was also David Clague with 19 points.
